Stanford Women in Design is a social and pre-professional design community that supports women in design.  

Our goal is to equip designers with tangible skills and real connections that will serve them long after they leave Stanford.SWID aims to empower women in design and champion a stronger, more cohesive design community on campus.

As a pre-professional group, Stanford Women in Design hopes to build community, professionalism, and promote diversity in the field.

SWID will uphold its values through a multitude of activities such as:

  • annual design conferences

  • design and portfolio workshops

  • student, student organization, and intra-SWID mixers

  • tours to design firms and startups

  • Stanford alumni panels, lectures, and lunch talk series

  • collaboration with women-focused nonprofits and organizations
